What is SEPM Society for Sedimentary Geology?
SEPM, originally named Society for Economic Paleontologists and Mineralogists was formed in 1926 by geoscientists that dealt with the details of sedimentary rocks, fossils and minerals. It was founded by professionals working in industry, government, and academics. Later the name changed to Society for Sedimentary Geology as the topics and researchers expanded to included sedimentology, stratigraphy, geochemistry, and areas allied with the sedimentary crust. Its mission and activities are linked below. SEPM publishes, convenes conferences, and supplies resources to sedimentary geoscientists.
