Program Events were as follows:
The Marine Micropaleontology Research Group held its meeting in Ballroom A of the Downtown Marriott at City Creek, Salt Lake City, Utah on May 21st, 2018 beginning at 7:00 PM. The 11 attendees (list below) were welcomed by NAMS Past-President Rick Fluegeman. Dr. Richard Denne of the School of Geology, Energy, and the Environment at Texas Christian University was the guest speaker. The title of his presentation was “Massive Cretaceous-Paleogene Boundary Deposit and Initial Incision of the Ancestral Desoto Canyon: Evidence for Widespread Chicxulub-induced Slope Failure”. The talk was followed by a general discussion of the Cretaceous-Paleogene boundary interval in the Gulf of Mexico region.
