Bruce Ainsworth

Bruce Ainsworth is the South Australian State Government Professor of Petroleum Geology at the Australian School of Petroleum, University of Adelaide. He has 22 years industry-related, international research and practical experience having worked as a Research Geologist at Shell Research Laboratories in Holland; a Development and Production Geologist with Shell operating companies in Thailand, Australia and New Zealand; and as a Research Assistant at the University of Liverpool, UK. He has a BSc from Imperial College, London, UK, an MSc from McMaster University, Canada, and a PhD from the University of Liverpool, UK. His current research interests are in the prediction of depositional style and reservoir heterogeneities in coastal depositional systems; seismic stratigraphy of marginal marine deposits; and the prediction and mitigation of reservoir compartmentalisation using 3D geological modelling techniques. Bruce has been a member of SEPM since 1991.
