APPENDICES from: Albert S. Colman and Heinrich D. Holland, 1999. The global diagenetic flux of phosphorus from marine sediments to the oceans: redox sensitivity and the control of atmospheric oxygen levels. In Glenn, Craig R., Prévôt-Lucas, Liliane, and Lucas, Jacques, eds., Marine Authigenesis: From Global to Microbial: Tulsa, SEPM (Society for Sedimentary Geology) Special Publication 64, 1999. AUTHOR INFORMATION:
Albert S. Colman
Heinrich D. Holland FORMATTING: The Appendices are available at this site or from the first author in Microsoft Excel '97 format (with the file name "appendices.xls") and in a tab-delimited ascii format (with the file names "appendix_a.txt" and "appendix_b.txt"). KEY TO APPENDICES: APPENDIX A. Full data set. See explanation of column data in "Data and Analysis" and "Calculations" sections of Colman and Holland (1998, referenced above.) Key to Studies is listed below. When more than one work is cited, the first work contained the pore water phosphate data, and supporting data were drawn from all listed publications. APPENDIX B. Annual means. See explanation in "Annual mean phosphate fluxes and redox conditions" section of Colman and Holland (1998, referenced above.) Key to Studies is listed below. In many cases, site and core characterization required the use of data from several publications. We have enclosed in parentheses those parameter values in Appendices A and B which are estimated based on measurements made on different cores at the same site or at a similar nearby site. Similarly, parameter values with significantly greater uncertainty than average are enclosed in parentheses. "#N/A" is used to indicate that data were unavailable to constrain the indicated parameter. Whenever more than one publication is cited in reference to a single core, the first publication contains the pore water phosphate data; the remaining citations pertain to other parameters and are listed alphabetically. KEY TO STUDIES The index numbers from Column A of "appendices.xls", "appendix_a.txt", and "appendix_b.txt" as well as the studies corresponding to those index numbers are listed below.
