Research Interests

  • Coastal sedimentology - developing basic sedimentation models for interpreting ancient sedimentary deposits, particularly tidal deposits;
  • Paleo-tempestology - developing long-term records of intense storms from sedimentary and documentary archives;
  • Stratigraphic records of Late Quaternary environmental change;
  • Zircon Chronology - tracing evolution of source-to-sink systems, especially the evolution of the Yangtze River drainage basin since the Cenozoic India-Eurasia collision and the Tibet Plateau uplift.
